Орпик говорит чтотон заслужил такой дисквы! Можно токо похвалить Брукси за то, он не стал увиливать на слушании, а сказал что с этим хитом все ясно, как с белым и черным

Brooks Orpik faced the music on Monday afternoon in the visitor’s locker room at Consol Energy Center.
The defenseman acknowledged that he deserved the three-game suspension that the NHL gave him on Sunday night.
When asked about his relationship with Olli Maatta, Orpik became emotional. He said that he spoke with Maatta after the game on Saturday night.
“I think it was fair,” Orpik said. “It was a bad hit. I intended it to be a hard hit, definitely not at his head. I don’t think there’s any way you can argue. It was definitely late. It was pretty black and white. That’s what I said at my hearing.”
Orpik said he spoke with Maatta following the game. The two are close friends. Orpik took a liking to Maatta immediately after the Penguins drafted Maatta in 2012.
“I talked to him right after the game,” Orpik said.
What was said?
“I’ll leave that to him and me,” Orpik said. “He’s a pretty good friend. That made the situation a little tougher.”
Orpik said that he wasn’t combative during his hearing with the league. Rather, he acknowledged that he made a big mistake.
I asked Orpik what he was thinking during the play.
“To be honest with you, it happened pretty quick,” Orpik said. “It’s pretty easy to watch it in slow motion. I think we made a point before the series to be hard on their guys, especially their defensemen. That’s what I tried to do. I made a pretty bad mistake with how late it was. That’s about all I got. It was a bad decision. It was late. Obviously no intention to hit him in the head. That was the result. That’s why I’m not playing.”
Orpik’s hearing was yesterday. The verdict was released on Sunday night.
“There wasn’t much arguing,” Orpik said. “I told them it was a late hit. That’s why I was having a hearing. I don’t know about an argument. There wasn’t much arguing. I obviously told them there was no intent there.”
Washington coach Barry Trotz is not pleased with the length of the suspension
“I’m disappointed, obviously, with the suspension,” Trotz said. “Brooks’ hit was a little bit late. I’m more disappointed with the length than anything.”
Trotz went on to describe Orpik as “a good, honest person,” and that characterization remains in the Penguins’ locker room, where Orpik has many friends.
He then suggested that the NHL favors the Penguins.
I’m disappointed,” Trotz said. “But I’m not surprised given who we’re playing.”
Maatta is among those friends, which is one of the primary reasons that Orpik is so upset with himself.
Orpik noticed when Maatta attempted to get up, and then fell back to the ice.
In fact, Orpik’s voice cracked when he answered the final question media scrum.
“Oh yeah,” Orpik said, when asked if the image of Maatta attempting to get up still bothers him.
Orpik dealt with a concussion during the first round of the playoffs after a hit from Philadelphia’s Ryan White hammered his head off the glass. He missed the final three games of that series.
“I was in a similar spot two weeks ago,” he said. “It’s tough hearing people try to say I was intentionally trying to hit him in the head. I’ve dealt with enough head and neck issues. It was tough to watch.”
Along with Trotz, the always entertaining Tom Wilson had some interesting things to say. Wilson referred to Mike Milbury as a “respected hockey icon,” and questioned how Milbury could have the audacity to refer to Orpik as a predator.
Milbury called Orpik a predator after the hit on NBC. No one else, to my knowledge, has written or publicly said that.
Here’s what Wilson had to say:
“I don’t think it’s fair for guys who have talk shows after games to be calling Orpik a predator. That’s not great for players to hear. Anyone that knows ‘Orpy’ knows he plays the game hard, he plays within the rules and he’s a leader and a good, honest guy. Why would you call him a predator? When you do get called those names, it’s not great. Obviously, playing against Pittsburgh after I got fined, you can’t even open your Twitter. You get bombarded with some pretty nasty stuff. I’m no stranger to that. It pisses me off a little bit more when they’re going after one of my teammates. Respected hockey icons that have say, that have opinions on the game go and say something like that, it’s not really fair. Especially when you know ‘Orpy.’ He’s such a great guy.”
