Over their last 28 regular season GP, Pens are 1-for-19 on the PP in the third period. Pens are averaging 1.0 shots per PP chance this season. Last season, that number was 1.38, and the season before it was 1.42. |

Friedman on 31 Thoughts on Malkin: "The Penguins I think want to sign him this summer, they can sign him to an extension this summer. Everything I've heard is they want to do that and they want him to retire as a Penguin". Friedman says he's looking at two guys the Penguins know really well, Jason Botterill and Tom Fitzgerald. Friedman also mentions Botterill could've gone back to be the AGM in Pittsburgh, but he decided to go to Seattle instead. Friedman explaining why Tom Fitzgerald, who is currently GM of the #NJDevils, is getting mentioned as a candidate for the Pittsburgh GM job. He has a multi-year contract with NJ, but only one year to be the GM, which is this year. |

20-21 team joins the 82-83 team as the only Pens teams to play the first 9 GP of a season without having a lead after two periods. |

Since the introduction of regular season OT in 1983-84, Pens have won more OT GP than any other team (154). Here's the breakdown on when those OT goals have come: 0-1 minute (23) 1-2 minutes (44) 2-3 minutes (31) 3-4 minutes (32) 4-5 minutes (24) |

Since entering the NHL, Pens lead all teams in PPG (3,525). Rangers are a distant second (3,334). |

Just was told Devils at Penguins won’t be happening tomorrow. Covid related. The Devils were already in Pittsburgh but have since left town. More info to come. |

Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins are most injured NHL teams over past 10 seasons. At around 3,000 man games lost mark during that time. Pittsburgh has had a greater impact on the team from the quality their injuries (but have won 2 Stanley Cups). |

HCMS: Letang practice full capacity today, as did Mike Matheson and Zach Aston-Reese. Right now their status is still day to day, but that's obviously encouraging. |
