These stories often get lost in the rivalry between two teams. On Wednesday, Penguin Nick Bonino hosted a boy battling cancer during practice. Caps goalie Braden Holtby helped greet the boy and gave him a stick. The boy is wearing the jersey of the team who has had the most success besting him but Holtby's heart saw beyond that. He said, "It's what we play the game for is to create positive influences on people and the penguins are doing a great thing having him as their guest and luckily we got to share a little part of that and hopefully make his day a little better."
