Кроме драфта нас этим летом ждет и подписание или неподписание сводобных агентов. Вот их список.

Кроме того, фаны на официальном говорят, что есть слух о том, что Пингвины интересуются Жамновым.

Group II NHL Free Agent
A player who is not an Entry Level Player (for most players, the Entry Level definition applies to their first three years in the NHL), or who does not qualify under any other category of free agency, becomes a Group II Free Agent when his contract expirtes.
If a Group II Free Agent does not receive a qualifying offer from his current club by June 30, he becomes an Unrestricted Free Agent.

A qualifying offer is defined as a 10% salary increase for players making below the NHL average salary, or the same salary as the previous season for players making above the NHL average salary.

If a Group II player has received a qualifying offer, he is a Restricted Free Agent.

He can sign an "offer sheet" with a competing club, but his current team retains the right to match that offer. If the team chooses not to match the offer, it receives draft choice compensation from the player's new team. The compensation is based on a sliding scale, determined by the player's new salary:

$727,502 or below -- No compensation
$727,502 - $1,000,315 -- Third-round choice
$1,000,315 - $1,182,191 -- Second-round choice
$1,182,191 - $1,455,005 -- First-round choice
$1,455,005 - $1,818,754 -- First and third-round choices
$1,818,754 - $2,182,505 -- First and second-round choices
$2,182,505 - $2,546,256 -- Two first-round choices
$2,546,256 - $3,091,882 -- Two first-round and one second-round choice
Over $3,091,882 -- Three first-round choices
Each additional $1,818,754 -- One additional first-round choice to a maximum of five

Group III NHL Free Agent
A player aged 31 or older, with at least four years of NHL experience, becomes an Unrestricted Free Agent when his contract expires. The player's current team has no right to compensation and no right to match a competing contract offer.

A player released from his contract by a buyout (in which the team pays 2/3 of the remaining value of the contract) is also an Unrestricted Free Agent. The buyout option is a standard clause of all NHL contracts.

Group IV NHL Free Agent
This is a rarely used category applying to "defected" players, and the rules are similar to the terms of Group II: If the player receives a contract offer by June 30 he is a Restricted Free Agent. If he does not receive that offer, he becomes an Unrestricted Free Agent.

The definition of a defected player is complex, but it mainly applies to a player who has never had an NHL contract, whose rights are held by an NHL team, and who is playing for a professional team not affiliated with the NHL. It also takes into account his length of service with the unaffiliated team and the circumstances under which he left that team.

Group V NHL Free Agent
If a player has completed at least 10 seasons of professional hockey (in the NHL or minor leagues) and earned less than the NHL average salary during the previous season, he has the right to become Unrestricted Free Agent. Eligible players have until July 15 to elect Group V status. A player can be a Group V Free Agent only once in his career.

Group VI NHL Free Agent
A player aged 25 or older, who has completed at least three seasons of professional hockey (in the NHL or minor leagues), and (a) in the case of a player other than a goaltender has played fewer than 80 NHL games (regular-season and playoff), or (b) in the case of a goaltender has played fewer than 28 NHL games (regular-season and playoff), is an Unrestricted Free Agent.

Salary Arbitration
A player aged 25 or older, or who has at least five years of NHL experience, qualifies for salary arbitration when his contract expires. Teams are not obliged to accept salary arbitration decisions. But if a team walks away from a salary arbitration award, the player may elect to become a Free Agent within seven days.
